Transcript
Hestia the daughter of Coronus and Rhea was the Goddess of hearth and
home. Hestia was the first-born child of Cronus and Rhea out of the six
children they had. She was also one of the six children that were swallowed by
Cronus and later vomited back up as fully-grown adults. She had many
brothers and sisters including Demeter, Hera, Hades, Poseidon, and Zeus. She
was never married and had no children.
She was the most loved Olympian of them all. She was also the most
kind and caring. Hestia was never married nor had children because she chose
to remain a virgin for eternity. When the gods Apollon and Poseidon asked for
her hand in marriage she begged Zeus to let her remain an eternal virgin. Zeus
agreed and she took place at his royal heart hence her name being the goddess
of the hearth.
