ThechoralprogramatChilesconsistsoffivecurricularperformingensembles.Offeringsincludeanentry-level women'schorus;acombinedmen'schorusthatperformsformanycampusevents;thelargemixedensemble ChilesSingers;anauditionedacappellachoircalledPardonourDust,andtheaward-winningadvancedchoirBelle Chantique.BelleChantiquehasperformedforconventionsofACDAatthestateanddivisionlevel,mostrecentlyin LouisvilleduringMarchof2008.Studentconductorsleadextracurricularchoirsaspartofthementorshipportion oftheirhonorscreditinadvancedmusicclasses. ThemusicprogramatLawtonChilesHighSchooliscomprehensiveandoffersmultipleclassesinChorus, Orchestra,Band,andGuitar.Thedramadepartmentoffersafulltechnicaltheaterprogramaswellasafull sequenceofdramaticandstagecraftclasses. LawtonChilesHighSchoolalsohasbecomewidelyknownforitsmusicaltheaterproductions.In2004,theChiles Choraldepartmentpresentedafully-stagedstudentproductionofGian-CarloMenotti'soperaAmahlandthe NightVisitors.In2007,theChoralDepartmentpresentedacompletelystudent-performed(onstageand instruments)productionofTheTaffetas.ThecombinedPerformingArtsdepartmenthasrecentlypresented productionsofSwing,SeussicaltheMusical,Pippin,GuysandDolls,ByeByeBirdie,TheMikado,OnceUpona Mattress,PhantomoftheCountryOpera.OurmostrecentproductionwasacombinedFineArtsDepartment productionofMeredithWilson’sTheMusicManin2016.
