Course Description
This course covers all the essential topics of Algebra II and Trigonometry/Pre-Calculus in
an advanced and accelerated manner. It covers all of the California Mathematics
Academic content Standards (1998) for Algebra 2, Trigonometry and Probability and
Statistics.
II.
Rationale
Honors Algebra-Trigonometry enables those college bound students who are capable of
handling an accelerated math course who wish to take Calculus in high school to do so if
they were not advanced to the geometry level in their freshman year. It also allows
students who take Geometry in their freshmen year to take two years of calculus in high
school.
