Research Experience
January 2013-July 2014
Research Assistant
I work as a research assistant at the Social Science Research Center at Mississippi State
University. I worked on a telephone survey project that assesses access to health care in the state
of Mississippi. I will also be involved in the publications that stem from this research. I am
currently assisting two faculty members on a project to determine if men and women’s subjective
physical and mental health differentially impact fear of crime.
November 2012-December 2012
I worked as a part-time, hourly-paid graduate student worker at the Social Science
Research Center at Mississippi State University. I worked on a telephone survey project that
assessed access to health care in the state of Mississippi.
June 2011-August 2011
I conducted both qualitative and quantitative research for a local non-profit after-school
organization, Girls Inc. for a research project in my undergraduate Research Methods course at
the University of Alabama at Birmingham. I wanted to determine what program needed to be
added in which to lower the depression and suicide rate in adolescent females.
