Specialist in orthodontics for children & adults
A beautiful smile is also the sign of a healthy smile.
Teeth in proper alignment are easier to clean and are
more resistant to tooth decay and less susceptible to
gum disease.
We understand that choosing to undertake orthodontic
treatment is making an investment that will last
a lifetime. Choosing the right orthodontist is an
important part of that decision. We look forward
to welcoming you to our practice and exceeding
your expectations.
About Orthodontics
Orthodontists specialize in the diagnosis, prevention
and treatment of dental and facial irregularities, and
treatment to achieve function, balance, and harmony
between the teeth and face. Aside from the fact that
crooked or crowded teeth can contribute to poor oral
health, an attractive smile can greatly enhance a
person’s self-esteem and self-confidence. Orthodontics
can enhance one’s quality of life at any age.
Practice Philosophy
Our team purpose is to present a well organized
orthodontic practice with a straightforward approach
to quality care in family-friendly environment. The
goal is for our patients to feel that the experience
with our office is remarkable, unique, pleasurable
and rewarding. Ultimately our goal is to positively
contribute to our patient’s comfort, happiness
and self-esteem.
Orthodontic treatment can address
the following problems:
•
The upper teeth protrude or cover too much
of the lower teeth
•
The upper teeth fit behind the lower teeth
•
The front teeth do not meet when the back teeth
are together
•
The teeth are crowded. Overlap or have
noticeable gaps
Each individual’s orthodontic problem is different and deserves personalized attention. Your initial visit is an important
opportunity for us to get to know you and what you want to accomplish. Quality care and individual attention is the
hallmark of our practice. We pride ourselves in taking the time necessary to explain our procedures each step of the
way. The more you know about your care, the better the results.
At your first visit, Dr Ruth will give you a thorough orthodontic examination. She will then make a recommendation
based on your specific situation. Depending on the individual, we may need x-rays, models, facial photographs and
other diagnostic materials first. If you do have any of these, please bring them with you to your first appointment.
We are confident that the friendly atmosphere of our office combined with our highly trained professional team will
make for a positive experience for you and your child.
The American Association of Orthodontics recommends
that children should first visit an orthodontist no
later than age 7. The primary advantage of early
treatment is that a child’s natural facial growth can be
directed to avoid more costly and invasive procedures
in the future.
There are several options of braces in varying degrees
of visibility. We offer mini stainless steel braces, clear
braces and the Invisalign® System.
No matter what your age, your appearance is an
important aspect of your life. If you are unhappy with
your smile, have crooked teeth or an uneven profile, it
is never too late to begin orthodontic treatment.
“We are committed to providing each of our patients with the
life-long gift of a beautiful and functional smile.”
Scheduling
Successful orthodontics requires a series of scheduled
appointments throughout treatment. We will work with
you to schedule appointments around your work or
school schedule as much as possible.
We have put much effort into designing our scheduling
system. Our goal is to allow you to be seen on time
for your appointment. We understand that everyone
has important obligations throughout the day and your
time is very valuable. In the event that an appointment
may need to be rescheduled, we ask that you contact
our office as soon as possible. We will reschedule the
appointment and keep you or your child on track with
our treatment plan.
Procedures and Services
Payment plans and insurance
Dr. Ruth will personally explain all recommended
procedures and will keep you fully informed about
every aspect of your treatment. After gathering
important information—which may include models,
x-rays, and facial photographs—we can best
determine your treatment plan.
Orthodontic treatment is an excellent investment in
the overall dental, medical and psychological well
being of children and adults. We realize that families
and individuals have different needs in fulfilling their
financial obligations. Therefore, to help you budget
the financial portion of your orthodontic investment we
encourage flexible payment options and will be happy
to discuss them with you.
Treatment time for braces can range from one to three
years. During treatment, you should see your general
dentist every six months for routine care. Our staff will
also teach you how to take care of your teeth, gums
and braces to help you maintain good dental health.
We accept most insurance plans. Please check with
your insurance provider to see if orthodontics is
covered with your plan.
