Chislet Church of England Primary School
We are a Church of England school and therefore we incorporate the teachings of Christianity into our daily routines
during the day; however that does not mean that we believe that the teaching of different religions is not a valuable and
spiritually important thing to do.
Our Religious Education covers the main religions of the world with an emphasis on Christianity as we are a Church of
England school and allows children to understand the beliefs of others as well as learn some of the celebrations and rituals
that others in our society follow. As part of our school ethos we believe that respecting others beliefs, traditions and
opinions are vitally important.
Below is an overview of the Religious Education curriculum.

As well as the areas above we also encourage children to take part in celebrations throughout the year.
Every year children take part in Our Christingle service and spend an afternoon learning about the Christingle and making
them for that evenings service which children, parents, governors and the community are invited to.
Our younger children are involved in producing a Nativity every year for families to attend and we use this opportunity to
teach the story of Christmas.
