Therhomboidmajor,rhomboidminor,andlevatorscapulaemuscles
arelocateddeeptothetrapeziusmuscleinthesuperiorpartofthe

Eachtrapeziusmuscleisflatandtriangular,withthebaseofthe
trianglesituatedalongthevertebralcolumn(themuscle'sorigin)and
theapexpoinFngtowardtheFpoftheshoulder(themuscle's

Themusclesonbothsidestogetherformatrapezoid.
Thesuperiorfibersofthetrapezius,fromtheskullandupperporFon
ofthevertebralcolumn,descendtoaHachtothelateralthirdofthe
clavicleandtotheacromionofthescapula.
ContracFonofthesefibers
elevatesthescapula.
