(Physicians and Health Care Professionals)

This session will provide participants with a review of current atrial fibrillation guidelines
including its diagnosis, current medical treatments, stroke prevention and lifestyle
modifications.
Session II: Atrial Fibrillation and its Complexities
12:30 - 17:15
(Physicians and Health Care Professionals)

This interactive session will provide health care practitioners a more in depth
understanding of the complexities of treating atrial fibrillation patients. This includes
common drug interactions, consulting other services for atrial fibrillation treatment, what to
do with anticoagulation in the perioperative setting or in the setting of a significant bleed
and lastly atrial fibrillation and heart failure.

Learning Objectives: At the end of these presentations, the participant will be able to: 1) identify current atrial fibrillation
guidelines: 2) distinguish atrial fibrillation classification and carry out appropriate diagnostic testing: 3) apply current guidelines in
stroke prevention: 4) distinguish rate versus rhythm strategies and when to apply them: and 5) list appropriate heart healthy
