Test over Chapter 4
1.
The students will draw angles in standard position. Discuss degree measure
of an angle that was introduced in Geometry.
2.
3.
4.
5.
Terms – ray, vertex, angle, initial side, terminal side, positive and negative
angles
Engage and connect
 Warm up – Write a sentence or two on where you see angles used in real
life. A few students will share their answer and we can discuss as a class.
Guided instruction –
 Drawing an angle: What are the parts of an angle? Is there a standard way
to sketch an angle?
 Angles in degrees: Can an angle exceed 360°? What is a negative angle?
 Angles in degrees: Discuss decimal form and Degree-Minute-Second form
 Convert between the two degree forms.
Guided practice – throughout the lesson
Check for understanding – Student discussion and responses to questions
Assignment – Page 366 # 11 – 33 odd CP
Page 366 # 11 – 21 odd, 23 - 34 Pre-AP
AP topic: Analysis of graphs
How will you assess learning and mastery?
Daily
 Observations during student group and practice time
 Class participation and involvement in discussions
Weekly
 Homework
 Focus Activities, and/or tests
