Without question, a smile is one of the most distinguishing characteristics of a person. It
shows happiness, excitement, and is inviting to others. A smile can absolutely change
someone’s life. It speaks a language everyone understands.
Dr. Peterson, Dr. Caskey, Dr. Peppers and their team understand the importance of a
healthy, beautiful smile. Our goal is to deliver exceptional care and treatment to our
patients, their families and friends. We strive to meet this goal by providing excellent,
contemporary, state-of-the-art orthodontic treatment in a kind, compassionate, and fun
environment. Our concern is not only the end result, but the experience along the way.
We sincerely want every patient’s orthodontic treatment to be a positive life experience.
We hope our office is always a reflection of our love for our patients, our community, and

Dr. Eric Peterson
Dr. Eric Peterson graduated from Baylor
College of Dentistry in 2002 with his Doctor
of Dental Surgery degree. He then
completed a general practice residency at
the University of Utah Hospital from 2002 to
2003. From 2003 to 2005, he attended the
Saint Louis University Center for Advanced
Dental Education to earn his Master of
Science in Dentistry degree and specialize in
orthodontics.
Aside from private practice, Dr. Peterson is
also involved with the Winslow Indian Health
Care Center by treating patients and
lecturing to the doctors at this clinic. Dr.
Peterson is also a member of the American
Association of Orthodontists, the American
Dental Association, the Arizona Dental
Association and the Rocky Mountain
Society of Orthodontists.
He has a love for the outdoors and enjoys
spending time mountain biking, skiing, and
trail running. In recent years Dr. Peterson
has completed a number of ultramarathons.
Dr. Peterson and his wife Angie are blessed
to have two wonderful children, Luke and
Reese.
Dr. Emily Caskey Peppers
Dr. Emily Caskey Peppers grew up in
Flagstaff and attended the University of
Arizona in Tucson for college. She then
obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery
degree from the University of Colorado in
2009. In addition, she completed a General
Practice Residency at the University of
Chicago from 2009 to 2010. She graduated
from orthodontic residency at Loma Linda
University in California in 2013, where she
earned a Master’s degree and a certificate in
the specialty of orthodontics. Her Master’s
research paper won an award from LLU and
was recently published in the prestigious
Angle Orthodontist journal. Dr. Peppers is a
member of the American Association of
Orthodontists, the Pacific Coast Society of
Orthodontists, and the American Dental
Association. Dr. Peppers and her husband,
Eric Peppers, both love the outdoors especially hiking, backpacking, and skiing and they love northern Arizona for all the
outdoor adventures it offers. Dr. Peppers
also enjoys running, and she recently
completed her personal goal of running 10
marathons. Dr. Peppers is very excited to
be back in her beautiful hometown of
Flagstaff to practice orthodontics!
Dr. Robert Caskey
Dr. Caskey attended the University of Washington and obtained his Doctor of Dental
Surgery in 1982 and his Master of Science degree in orthodontics in 1988. He has
been practicing orthodontics for more than 20 years.
To stay up to date on the latest advancements in orthodontics, Dr. Caskey is a
member of many professional organizations, including the American Association of
Orthodontists, the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, the American Dental
Association, the Arizona State Dental Association and the Arizona Orthodontic Study
Group.
Dr. Caskey is also an outdoor enthusiast! His love for nature and experiencing God’s
creations keep him busy when he’s not in the office. Depending on the season, you are
likely to find Dr. Caskey mountain biking or snow-skiing. He is also an avid hiker and
has put some serious miles on his feet, particularly in the Grand Canyon. He and his
wife Tina have four wonderful children who are the joy of their lives.
Our Playground
Living in northern Arizona gives us all something to
smile about. We can all appreciate the beautiful
surroundings in which we live and the countless
activities this environment provides. Dr. Caskey,
Dr. Peterson and Dr. Peppers wanted to bring
these outdoor adventures inside. We are confident
you will find our office unique, comfortable, fun and
inviting. We want every aspect of your orthodontic
experience to be the best it can be!
We want you to be excited about coming to your
orthodontic appointments! We have a fun saltwater
fish tank, a waterfall, an XBox and Playstation,
computers with wi-fi, a photo slideshow, and TVs with
family-friendly videos playing for your enjoyment.
We also have a reward system where patients earn
points for toys, gift cards, sports equipment, iTunes
cards, movie tickets, etc. We have found that this is a
fun and rewarding way to encourage patients to brush
their teeth well and take care of their braces!
This is what makes our job so wonderful! We love getting to know our
patients and their families. Not only do we get to watch kids grow up
while we are improving their smiles, but they keep us young too! Our
adult patients also brighten our day through the relationships we build
with them and the joy they exhibit as they see their smiles transform. We
really do consider all these things a special privilege, and it’s what makes
our profession so great!
Orthodontic Braces and
Treatment
Orthodontic technology has progressed
tremendously! Gone are the days of huge,
bulky braces that exerted excessive forces.
Braces are now low-profile, smaller and
more esthetic. We offer clear brackets for a
more ‘invisible’ treatment alternative, or
conventional brackets that can have colored
ties (also called o-rings) placed on them.
These ties are changed at every
appointment and are a lot of fun! The wires
we use are super-elastic, or ‘memory wires’
that exert lower forces over longer periods
of time and are more comfortable to
patients. We also offer contemporary bite
correctors such as the Herbst appliance,
Forsus Springs, etc. The radiographs we
take are all digital, which essentially reduces
the amount of radiation to the patient by
60-80%. We also offer complimentary email reminders or patients can opt for textmessage reminders.
In addition, we work closely with our
patients’ dentists should a collaborative
approach be needed for the best outcome
possible.

Orthodontic treatment has become increasingly popular with adults for a
variety of reasons. Traditional braces or Invisalign are common ways to
improve one’s smile. So whether you are 12, 30 or 60, it doesn’t matter!

Our trusted fireman! Keith went through orthodontic
treatment using Invisalign, a clear aligner technology.
Now his smile is looking awesome and he is ready to take
on the world!
Invisalign - Clear Aligner Technology
Invisalign can be an excellent alternative to conventional
braces for some patients. As the name suggests,
Invisalign is nearly invisible, so people won’t even know
you are wearing it. Patients adjust easily and quickly to
Invisalign, and with this treatment there are no wires to
poke you or brackets to come loose.
The Invisalign process consists of a series of clear trays
called aligners that exert forces on the teeth, moving
them into position. Aligners are worn for two weeks at a
time and are then replaced by the next set in the series.
Each set of aligners straightens the teeth a little more
than the last. The aligners can also be removed when
eating, brushing, or flossing. And when you are finished
with the last set of aligners you are left with a beautiful
smile!
Invisalign can be used on teens and adults. There are
essentially three main modalities: Invisalign Express,
Invisalign Teen and Complete Invisalign Treatment. If
you are considering braces and would like the
convenience of the Invisalign process, we can evaluate
your dental condition to see if you would be a good
candidate for this technology. If so, we can also
determine which modality would work best for you.
We just wanted to brag a little about Dr. Peterson,
Dr. Caskey, Dr. Peppers and their staff. My son has
always received wonderful care at Northern Arizona
Orthodontics. The doctors and staff are very kind,
helpful and knowledgeable. The office is very warm
