Featured Reporter: Nizyrie Martinez October 2012 VOL. 1 ISSUE 1 The Fertile Crescent They came, they explored and they discovered this fascinating land known as the Fertile Crescent. Reporters interviewed local Archaeologist Nizyrie Martinez who reported the following facts about this fascinating early civilization. Civilization developed as people gave up their huntergathering lifestyles and began to settle in one place. The places they chose had many natural resources we refer to a broad path in the Middle East as the Fertile Crescent . This is a rich fertile growing area in a part of the world where most of the land is too dry for farming. The Fertile Crescent is shaped like a quarter moon.
