DESIGN AND FABRICATION OF SOLAR AUTO TILTING SYSTEM AND
SEED DRYER WITH PARABOLIC SYSTEM
ABSTRACT:
The Solar Powered Dryer is new and innovative technology basing on
blending Solar Thermal and Solar Photovoltaic Technologies. In our project the solar
panel is used to convert the light energy to electrical energy by photovoltaic method.
The machine, solar dryer, we introduce through our project is mainly useful
for drying seeds, fruits and wherever moisture contents.
In our project, the solar dryer consists of four main parts such as parabolic
collector, battery, Solar panel and Rotating shaft then connecting motor separately.
The parabolic collector collecting sun rays, so that the moisture contents in the place
was removed. The size of our project is also portable. So we can move the ground
dryer to any place very easily.
The solar panel when it is using nothing of their collector that is time
connecting of solar panel upper side on center it is getting reflecting sun ray
converted into electrical energy.
INTRODUCTION:
THEORY OF DRYING:
When a solid is dried experimentally, data are
obtained relating moisture content to time. When these
data are plotted graphically, it results in what is known as
a drying curve. If the moisture content is plotted versus
time, the first portion of the curve (B - C) will indicate a
constant rate of drying.
The remainder of the curve will indicate a falling rate of drying (C - D). A B is that portion of the curve where internal heat is still causing evaporation and ends
when the surface temperature of the solid reaches the wet bulb temperature (dew
point) of the air.
WORKING PRINCIPLE:
The Solar sun rays passes through the parabolic collector, located on the top
of the cabinet, which is oriented to tilt angle equal to the latitude to collect maximum
radiation. The cabinet is made of anti-corrosive material and of modular nature to
meet the varying sizes and loading capacities of products, ranging from 8 to 15 kgs
and above.
That is parabolic connecting shaft it separately rotates like dc motor
connecting why we are connecting shaft blow the seeds process.
The solar panel connecting top of parabolic it is used nothing of seeds time
waste of energy conversion.
The solar panel is used to converting this sun light energy into electrical
energy by photovoltaic method. The solar panel output is 12 Voltage D.C. This
energy is stored in a battery of Lead-acid. The battery is supplying power to the 12
Volt D.C motor.

APPLICATIONS:
The Solar dryer can be used to dry a variety of agricultural products and food
items such as: Fruits (Grapes, bananas etc.) / Vegetables (Potatoes, Onions etc.)
/ Grains (Paddy, Wheat, Maize etc.) / Spices (Ginger, Garlic, Chills etc.) / Cash
crops (Coffee, Herbs, Flowers etc.) / Fish and Meat / Mushrooms.
We design commission and install industrial Solar drying systems as per the
customer needs and requirements. System details can be sent to the Customer upon
receipt of specific requirements from the customer

ADVANTAGES:
 Simple in construction
 This system is noiseless in operation
 It is portable, so it can be transferred easily from one place to other place
 Power is stored in a battery
 Maintenance cost is low
DISADVANTAGES:
 It does not purify air
 Initial cost is high
 Solar panel saves the energy during day only
