Equivalent Equations: Are equations that have the same

solving an equation.
Addition Property of Equality: Adding the same number
to each side of an equation to produce an equivalent
equation.
Subtraction Property of Equality: Subtracting the same
number to each side of an equation to produce an
equivalent equation.

Isolate: Getting the variable alone on one side of the
equation.
Inverse operation: Undoes another operation. For example,

equation by the same nonzero number to produce an
