CARE LESSON PLANS WEEK OF: 1/18/2016 -1/22/2016 Grade Teacher Subject Area Mathematics Level MAFS.2.NBT.2.5 Fluently add and subtract within 100 using strategies based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the Florida Standards relationship between addition and subtraction. (Lesson 5.1 – 5.8) MAFS.2.NBT.2.9 Explain why addition and subtraction strategies work, using place value and the properties of operations. (Lesson 5.3) CURRICULUM/Objective: What do you want ALL students to know? Students will be able to be able to subtract 1 and 2 Digit numbers with and without regrouping numbers within 100. LEARNING GOAL 1.0 2.0 3.0 4.0 Defines what a student is expected to know, understand, or be able to do. Students will be able to subtract single digit numbers Students will be able to subtract single digits from 2digit numbers. Vocabulary: sum addend digit tens ones difference patterns subtract break apart solve explain regrouping missing addend number line how many more subtraction sentence how many more than Students will be able to subtract with and without regrouping using strategies based on place value and properties of operations. Students will be able to subtract single and double digits from 3-digit number with and without regrouping using strategies based on place value and properties of operations. STUDENT EVIDENCE Student Evidence SCALE LEVELS I can fluently subtract single digit numbers. ASSESSMENTS How will mastery be determined? Student Evidence I can use place value to find the difference in a subtraction problem. Student Evidence I can model 2-digit subtraction with and without regrouping. I can subtract from 3-digit numbers with and without using a place value mat. SW score 70% or higher on the End of Chapter Assessment. REMEDIATION Described the daily activities for helping students who are NOT meeting mastery? *At the scale level that the student is performing. S1: (a) Students will use base ten and uni-blocks to subtract single digit numbers. S2: Student will (a) Students will use base ten and uni-blocks to subtract single digit numbers. S3: (a) Student will use place value mats to show regrouping when subtracting single digits. CURRICULUM/MATERIALS/RESOURCES Student Evidence ENRICHMENT Described the daily activities for students who meet/exceed mastery? REAL WORLD APPLICATION Describe the real world activity for this standard(s). Students will be able to subtract single and double digits from 3digit number with and without regrouping using strategies based on place value and properties of operations. Students will survey to find the number of second grades in each class. Then use the data to find the total number of second graders in the school. Go Math book Lesson 5.1 – 5.8, Ten Frames, base ten blocks, Uni-blocks, Place Value Mats.
