Course Title: Social Stratification and Inequality

Course Objectives: This course introduces the concept of social stratification and its
theoretical foundations. It aims to acquaint the students with key issues with regard to social
stratification across societies. The course is weaved upon the central axes of the phenomena of
stratification in the society like class, gender, race, tribe, caste, ethnicity etc.
