Topics include biochemistry, cell biology, respiration, photosynthesis, genetics, evolution, ecology, reproduction, and energetics. Recommended for non-science majors who plan to transfer to four-year institution. Learning Outcomes for this course: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to: Summarize the importance of acquiring a basic knowledge of biology. Illustrate how science is actually done by defining theory and developing hypothesis as applied to the scientific method. Summarize the characteristics of life and describe the hierarchy of living things. Analyze the molecular nature of life. Compare the metabolic processes of photosynthesis and cellular respiration.
