Classifying Triangles + Triangle Sum Theorem
Triangles can be classified two ways—by their angles and by their sides.
If classifying by angles:

Acute triangle: a triangle with 3 acute (less than 90 degrees) angles.

Right triangle: a triangle with one right (90 degree angle) angle.

Obtuse Triangle: a triangle with one obtuse (greater than 90 degrees) angle.
If classifying by sides:

Equilateral triangle: all sides and angles are congruent (equal).

Isosceles triangle: 2 sides and 2 angles are congruent.

Scalene triangle: no sides or angles are congruent.
Triangle Sum Theorem—this states that all angles in a triangle will sum to 180 degrees.
