Training Grants
8/01-3/03: Nurse Midwifery Faculty member of a Human Resources and Services Administration
(HRSA) grant: Nurse-Midwifery; culturally competent perinatal care. Duties included
academic advisor for nurse-midwifery students, all aspects of student recruitment,
Recruitment Advisory Committee secretary and member, taught one major course in each
academic semester, and supervised students during clinical preceptorships. PI: Dr. Judith
Fullerton
Curriculum Development Activities
WH634, Care of the Childbearing Women II (Women’s Health NP students), Updates to course to
include adding projects, integrating clear, concise directions and timelines. Content was thin for 3credit course; improved April 2010 for Summer 2010 course (FSMFN). Spring 2011 working on
course redesign to incorporate Community of Inquiry (COI) model. Changes to incorporate COI
model incorporated into curriculum Fall 2011. Course adapted each term to refine and improve the
course; incorporating the student recommendations. Updates every term.
NM630, Advanced Women’s Health (WHNP and CNM students), Updates to course to include
integrating clear, concise direction, and audio presentations; improved December 2009. In April
2010 thinned course to more appropriate number of hours for 1 credit course (FSMFN). Winter
