Brain pop (teton/tcsd)
1. Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon gambled for control of the heavens
under world and sea. Poseidon won the sea, Hades won the under
world, and Zeus won the heavens. They all would control the earth
but that lead to arguments.
2. 12 main Greek gods lived on top of Mount Olympus. The 12 gods
that lived on Mount Olympus were…
 Zeus and Hera, the king and queen of the gods.
 Apollo was the god of medicine, music, and sun.
 Apollo’s sister was Artemis, the goddess of the hunt.
Aretemis and Apallo are the children of Zeus.
 Aphrodite is the goddess of love married to Hephaestus
the god of metalworking, but she was in love with Ares
the god of war.
 Demeter is Zeus’ sister and also the goddess of grain and
harvest.
 Athena is the goddess of learning and justice. (C: library
look up program) She was fully grown and came from
Zeus’s head.
 Poseidon controlled the wind and sea. When he got
angry, rough seas were to fallow. Sailors would make
sacrifices to him before they set sale.
 Hermes was also Zeus’s son; he was messenger of the
gods. He conducted souls to the under world ruled by
Hades.
 Hades was not happy he got stuck with under world. He
stayed away from mount Olympus most of the time.
