About IASLC
The International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) was established in 1972 to: 1)
promote the study of the etiology, epidemiology, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and all other aspects
of lung cancer; 2) disseminate information about lung cancer to the members of the Association, to the
medical community at large and to the public; and 3) use all available means to eliminate lung cancer as
a health threat for the individual patients and throughout the world. Since its inception the IASLC has
been a multidisciplinary society with members geographically distributed around the world. The IASLC
currently has about 4000 members from more than 80 countries.
Job Description
The IASLC is seeking an intern to support the Council of Regents Program. The IASLC has developed a
worldwide network of Regents who are responsible for a country or group of countries within a
geographical region. The Regents have been appointed by the board to ensure effective communication
between IASLC and the members, and potential members, of the IASLC in the country or countries for
which they have responsibility.
The position requires an individual who is extremely detail-oriented and dependable, with outstanding
communications skills and an interest in International relations. Interest in healthcare, medicine , and
research is helpful. This position will average approximately 10 hours/week. The office is located in
Aurora, CO and reports directly to the Director of Membership of the IASLC.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
 Assist with regular communication and scheduling with IASLC’s 24 International Regents and
Regents.
 Create and evaluate region and specialty-specific reports to help create and implement strategies
for membership growth.
 Serve as a resource for the IASLC Regents to communicate with IASLC headquarters.
 Research and implement engagement strategies in specific regions and sub-specialty societies.
 Assist with Membership Renewal efforts in conjunction with the IASLC Regent program.
 Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
 Excellent written and verbal communications and strong organizational skills; ability to work under
pressure and meet deadlines.
 Ability to take initiative and work independently as well as support team efforts.
 Strong interest and understanding of international cultural differences.
 Experience using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
 Social Media, Website experience helpful.
