WELCOME
Professor Brian Fleck and the Scottish Ophthalmological Club Council extend a warm welcome to all
delegates, speakers and members of commercial companies, attending the Spring Meeting. We hope
this will be a very successful event and wish you an enjoyable day. Prior to the meeting commencing,
we would be grateful if you could take time to read the information below. If you have any queries
regarding the meeting, please speak to Alison Simpson or Lesley Malcolm at the Registration Desk in
the foyer.
GENERAL INFORMATION
There will be no planned fire alarm tests carried out whilst delegates are in the building. In the
unlikely event of a fire alarm sounding (a high pitched continuous tone will be heard or automated
voice message) please make your way to the nearest emergency exit. Disabled people should make
their way, where possible, to the front of the building. Anyone who has special needs, in the event of an
emergency, should make themselves known to the Stirling Hotel staff on arrival. Please exit the hotel in
an orderly manner and the hotel and staff will be on hand to assist. The car park barrier will be raised
by the end of the meeting. If you intend to leave earlier, please pick up a token from reception.
SECURITY
Security personnel are in place throughout the building. Name badges should be worn at all times. If
you lose or misplace your badge at any time over the event, please report this to Alison Simpson or
Lesley Malcolm at the Registration Desk situated in the foyer.
REGISTRATION
Registration will take place in the foyer from 9.15 am. All delegates must be pre-registered. Due to
catering number we are unable to register delegates on the day.

We have tried to ensure dietary needs have been catered for. If you have any questions, please consult
a member of the catering team in the Abbeycraig Restaurant. Teas and Coffees will be provided in the
Blair Atholl Suite with lunch in the Abbeycraig Restaurant.

FUTURE MEETINGS
The Autumn 2016 Meeting with be held in the Apex Hotel, Dundee on Friday 16 September. Hosts for
this meeting will be NHS Tayside. The Spring 2017 Meeting with be our 200th Meeting. This will be
held on Friday 17 February in the Marriot Hotel in Glasgow. This will be followed by a dinner /ceilidh
in the Piping Centre in Glasgow on the Friday evening. Further information will be available via the
