Management Information Systems Officer Job Title: Management Information Systems Officer Job Purpose: Improve how information is managed in the organisation, turning data into information and insights that lead to better impact measurement and service provision. The successful candidate will oversee the current monthly statistics process, improve and develop new management information systems and analyse and report on data. This vacancy is within the Quality and Practice team of Dublin Simon Community which holds responsibility for statistics and reporting, audit oversight, data protection, document management, research and advocacy,. Reports to: Quality and Practice Manager Location: Dame Street, Dublin 2 Core Job Requirements Collect, collate and verify service statistics and key performance indicators. Utilise PASS (Software as a Service) to report and verify information. Support the project manager during the development and implementation of an add-on currently in development for the PASS system. Cleaning and filtering of statistical data and data entry into master database. Undertake a review of all reporting requirements and current data recording practices across services and support functions. Design reports tailored to services’ needs and identify and implement improvements as required. Design, source and implement new data collection methods or systems to simplify the statistics reporting process and meet stakeholder information needs. Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in statistical information for management, communication and research projects. Compile monthly, quarterly and annual reports for management. 29/01/2015 Page 1 of 3 Management Information Systems Officer Highlight and promote good practice in outcome reporting, with a focus on outcome measurement. Respond to requests for information in a timely manner. Monitor and coordinate activities relating to the reduction of administrative activities across the organisation. Co-ordinate designated projects as required by the role. This will involve developing project plans, gaining project sign off, implementation, managing timelines, communicating with stakeholders, project evaluation and reporting. Continually seek opportunities to increase stakeholder satisfaction. Coordinate workload and provide support & supervision to full time volunteers/interns on placement in the Quality & Practice office as required. Support the work of Quality and Practice colleagues and work on other projects as required. Person Specification Essential The ideal candidate will have a degree or post graduate qualification in a relevant field, such as statistics; computer science; information management systems; data analytics etc. OR will have equivalent experience. Must have excellent knowledge of Microsoft products especially advanced functions and formulae in Microsoft Excel. Technical expertise regarding data models, database design and data mining. Proven ability to work constructively with internal and external stakeholders as well as third party suppliers Highly numerate with strong analytical skills Adept at report writing and presenting findings. The ability to collect, organise, analyse and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. A positive and flexible approach to working in a busy, open plan office with site visits to Dublin Simon services. Desirable Experience working as a data analyst or equivalent.
