FLORIDA STATE COLLEGE AT JACKSONVILLE COLLEGE CREDIT COURSE OUTLINE COURSE NUMBER: OTH 1019 COURSE TITLE: Functional Anatomy II PREREQUISITE(S): OTH 1014 COREQUISITE(S): None CREDIT HOURS: 2 CONTACT HOURS/WEEK: 3 CONTACT HOUR BREAKDOWN: Lecture/Discussion: 1 Laboratory: 2 Other __________: FACULTY WORKLOAD POINTS: 2.6 STANDARDIZED CLASS SIZE ALLOCATION: 30 (Lecture) - 15 (Lab) CATALOG COURSE DESCRIPTION: The two functional anatomy courses introduce the phenomenon of human motion and function within the context of occupational performance. The Functional Anatomy courses provide the student with the foundation for understanding motor skills necessary to perform activities and how impairment may impede function. Following study in basic neuroanatomy, as it relates to occupational therapy, specific areas of the body including the shoulder girdle and upper extremities are studied in detail. The students will develop skills in assessment procedures including goniometer measurements and muscle testing. Treatment planning, implications of treatment, impaired muscles, movement, exercise tolerance, and sensory functions will be explored. SUGGESTED TEXT(S): Early, M.
