POINTS TO PONDER
What Are You Made Of?
By Brett V. Franson, DC
Whether you believe man was scooped up from the dust of the Earth and God breathed life into his nostrils, or that
man evolved from natural forces doesn’t contradict the fact that you are here. You have a human body. Can we
agree on that fact?
So let’s break your body down, piece by piece so you can get to understand it better. Here we go:
Bones, muscles, nerves and organs could be considered a particular level of understanding. However, each of those
things is made up of smaller things, called cells. There are bone cells, muscle cells, nerve, heart, liver, immune, skin
cells, etc., etc. to the tune of approximately 200 different types of cells. You with me so far?
And every cell is made up of even smaller things. For example, a cell wall, cytoplasm, mitochondria, organelles, and a
nucleus among other things. But what are those things made of? Amino acids, proteins, sugars and such. But what
are those things made of? Let’s jump right to molecules, shall we?
Of course, the next question is going to be ‘what are molecules made of?’ Molecules are made of atoms. Are you
familiar with H2O? or CH4? How about NO2? Did you ever take chemistry in school? Those are chemical
compounds, or molecules. But each letter represents a specific element, or atom so that is what molecules are made
of – atoms.
What are atoms made of? Now we get down to the very, very, very small. Things like protons, neutrons and electrons
exist at this level. But we can go smaller still – subatomic particles, leptons, quarks, etc. And on and on it goes.
At the very core of it all, it is simply just energy – fields of energy, vibrating at various frequencies. This is your body at
a level no one can see. This energy is what makes up your body, and everything else too. The funny thing is that this
energy that makes up your body is constructive in nature, meaning it adapts you to other energies. This energy works
FOR you, always. In Vitalism/Chiropractic, we call it Innate Intelligence and Lifeforce. This force is probably the most
misunderstood force on Earth.
Lifeforce is the field of energy that gives temporary cohesion to the atoms and molecules of your body while you are
alive. Once it is gone, your body will decompose and return to that from which it came – the Earth. This energy is
what is ultimately responsible for you being alive and healing and adapting you to the forces of Life. It is who you
really are, at the deepest of levels – way beyond your thoughts and beliefs and life story. It has been called many
names. Can you think of a few?
Why did I take you down this path? To show you that your body has an intelligence way beyond anyone’s capacity to
understand, even medical science. Your body is intelligent. That is the point of this ‘Point to Ponder’. I want you to
understand that whatever your body does, it does so because that is an expression of the intelligence working through
it. It is the cause behind your symptoms. And when you treat symptoms, you are interfering with the intelligence.
The next time you have a symptom, please ask yourself this question: “What is Innate up to?” In other words, what is
the Life that you are, attempting to do? Do you really think it is trying to kill your body? Or is it trying to adapt to
something? Or trying to tell you to change something? What if you listened instead of suppressing? What if you went
with the flow instead of interfering?
Overcoming conditioned fears and learning to trust what your body is doing can be very freeing. Symptoms will come,
but next time, maybe, just maybe, you’ll try a different path. Then you’ll really see what you are made of.
