Ramki Krishnan Distinguished Engineer, CTO NFV Dell Networking Ram (Ramki) Krishnan is an industry expert in the area of Networking. He combines deep technology understanding with strategic thinking to bring customer-winning products and solutions to reality. His expertise includes a wide range of technologies and market trends, including: Software Defined Networking (SDN), Network Functions Virtualization (NFV), Public and Private Cloud services, Network Virtualization, Overlay and Underlay Networking, OpenFlow, Data Center, Mobile Networking and MPLS etc. He has previous startup experience. He is a recognized innovator with 20+ US patents and several IEEE conference papers. He is a thought leadership speaker in key conferences such as OpenStack, OpenDaylight, OPNFV and ONS etc. He holds a leadership role in the NFV Research Group at IETF. He is also an active participant in several research and standards organizations such as IRTF, IETF and ETSI NFV etc. Rajesh Gadiyar, Director, Network Architecture, Network Platforms Group, Intel Corp. Rajesh Gadiyar is the Director of Architecture in the Network Platforms Group at Intel and is responsible for driving technology leadership for Communications and Software Defined Infrastructure (SDN/NFV). He is focused on driving a scalable and efficient architecture for next generation communications platforms. Since joining Intel in 2000, he has held several positions in Engineering, Professional Services, Strategic Planning and Architecture. Prior to joining Intel, he led various engineering teams at Trillium Digital Systems and Wipro Ltd. Rajesh brings several years of experience in networking products, architecture, protocols, standards and software development for Voice over IP, cellular, broadband, mobile telephony and data networks. Rajesh has a B.S. in telecommunications engineering from National Institute of Technology, Trichy India and an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management. Don Clarke Principal Architect, Network Technologies, CableLabs Don Clarke is a leading member of the Network Technologies team at CableLabs. Don co-founded the ETSI Network Functions Virtualisation Industry Specification Group (NFV ISG) and is a member of the NFV ISG leadership team. He edited the joint-carrier white paper on NFV published in October 2012 coauthored by 13 carriers. This document is widely regarded as the seminal document heralding NFV as the future direction for telecommunications networks. Working with industry colleagues, Don was also instrumental in the creation of the open source community Open Platform for NFV (OPNFV) launched in September 2014. CableLabs is a founding board member of OPNFV. He holds a BSc. (Hons) Degree in Computer Systems from the University of Essex, England. He has co/authored nine patents relating to PON technology. Don is based in Joplin-Missouri USA and commutes regularly to the CableLabs locations in LouisvilleColorado and Sunnyvale-California. Sriram Natarajan is a Senior Research Engineer at Deutsche Telekom - Silicon Valley Innovation Center (T-Labs), USA. Dr. Natarajan is engaged in research & development activities in the areas of Softwaredefined Networks, Network Function Virtualization, and Network Security. Previously, Dr. Natarajan served as the Vice-Chair of Security group at Open Networking Foundation, where he led the development of Florence - an open-source SDN security testing framework. rior to joining T-Labs, he worked as a Senior Researcher for NTT Innovation Institute Inc, where he designed and developed network services for NTT's SDN production deployment. Sriram holds a MS and a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Wenjing Chu Distinguished Engineer High Velocity Cloud, Network Functions Virtualization, and mobility research at Dell Wenjing Chu is a Distinguished Engineer, working on High Velocity Cloud, Network Functions Virtualization, and mobility research in Dell. He joined Dell in February 2012 as a Distinguished Technologist in the CTO office of Dell Enterprise Solutions Group (ESG) spearheading Enterprise Mobility technology architecture and strategy. Since the inception of Dell Research, Wenjing has been the leader of Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) initiatives at Dell, representing Dell in ETSI and industry forums, leading NFV partner community and open source initiative, organizing Proof-of-Concept NFV cloud demonstrations, and driving technology strategy. He is currently leading research in High Velocity Cloud (HVC) as a new generation of cloud computing foundation to support high velocity data path, high velocity service, and high velocity data analytics. These new cloud capabilities will drive technology innovation and Dell’s competitiveness in NFV and other demanding new workloads on cloud. In Mobility area, Wenjing continues to lead research in seamless mobility that is helping Dell End User Computing and Dell Software Group to significantly improve mobile User eXperience (UX) and to enable new mobile applications. Prior to Dell, Wenjing was CEO of Kaya Labs, a developer of proximity based mobile communication software and contextual social circles. He was a cofounder of startup Sentient Networks, and a development manager of Wi-Fi pioneer Airespace, both were major acquisitions by Cisco Systems. He was a major contributor to the popular GateD® routing suite designing its virtual router, BGP and MPLS, and management interface code base. He started his career at Bell Northern Research designing a widely used kernel for high performance networking. Norival Figueira, PhD Office of the CTO, Brocade Norival Figueira is a distinguished member of the Office of the CTO at Brocade, where he leads projects in the areas of SDN/NFV and network policies and security. Previously, Dr. Figueira was on Brocade’s product management team, where he led the development of SDN/OpenFlow and other advanced features on Brocade router products. Prior to Brocade, Dr. Figueira served in senior leadership positions with Foundry Networks, Hammerhead Systems, Nortel Networks, and Bay Networks. Dr. Figueira is accredited with the issuance of 18 US patents in networking technology. Norival Figueira received Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Computer Science from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). Dr. Jai Menon Vice President and Chief Research Officer Dell Research Dr. Jai Menon is Vice President and Chief Research Officer, Dell Research. Dell Research delivers organic, long-range, disruptive innovation for Dell, establishes research alliances with leading universities, and creates the annual Dell Technology Outlook to help inform Dell’s strategy and product roadmaps. Jai joined Dell in July 2012 as Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for Dell Enterprise Solutions Group (ESG). As CTO, Jai guided the development of technical strategy, worked with VCs and start-ups, developed alliances with industry partners, created the ESG Technology Council and created and chaired the pan-Dell CTO Forum. Dell Research was formed in 2013. Prior to Dell, Jai was Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Technical Strategy for the Systems and Technology Group (STG) at IBM. He was responsible for setting and communicating STG’s technical strategy, for technical leadership and setting the direction for 15,000 developers, for driving new business initiatives to create growth, for external alliances with industry partners, VCs and universities, for research collaboration, and driving technical vitality. Jai was an IBM Fellow, IBM’s highest technical honor, and one of the early pioneers who helped create a technology called RAID that is now a $20B industry. He holds 53 patents, has published 78 papers and reports, and is contributing author to three books on database and storage systems. He is an IEEE Fellow and an IBM Master Inventor, a Distinguished Alumnus of both IIT, Madras and Ohio State University, and a recipient of the IEEE Wallace McDowell Award and the IEEE Reynold B. Johnson Information Systems Award. He serves on several university industry advisory boards. Jai received a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in 1977 and earned M.S. and Ph.D degrees in Computer Science from Ohio State University in 1978 and 1981. Dino Farinacci Founder and Software Engineer at lispers.net Dino Farinacci is a technologist advancing the state of the art for the next-generation Internet. He was the original co-author for LISP (a fundamental concept of separating identity and location semantics from an IP address) dating back to 2007 and has the pleasure of writing two implementations of the protocol. He currently does consulting for large and startup networking vendors as well as users of such products. He is a software engineer by trade and a technology visionary by passion. Dino holds over 40 patents and has been a major contributor and member of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) for 28 years. If you can name an Internet protocol, there is a good chance Dino has designed and implemented it in widely deployed products. Over his career working at the NSA, CDC, 3Com, Procket, and cisco he has designed and implemented dozens of networking protocols. Dilip Krishnaswamy Senior research scientist IBM Research Dilip Krishnaswamy is a senior research scientist at IBM Research. Previously, he was a platform architect at Intel, and a senior researcher in the office of the chief scientist at Qualcomm. He is an inventor on 34 granted US patents and has authored over 60 research publications. He has a PhD in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Sridhar Ramaswamy Principal Engineer Brocade's Software networking division Sridhar Ramaswamy is a Principal Engineer working in Brocade's Software Networking division. Sridhar is also the Project Technical Lead (PTL) for OpenStack Tacker project building an Open ETSI MANO NFV Orchestrator and VNF Manager. Sridhar participates in OASIS TOSCA NFV work group advancing Information Model standardization for NFV. Prior to Tacker Sridhar was an active technical contributor in OpenStack Neutron project. Before joining Brocade Sridhar has a long career in Cisco, most recently as a Senior Technical Leader working on various Networking and Virtualization products including CSR1000V Virtual Router, LXC Container Orchestration on network devices and UCS blade servers. Anoop Ghanwani Distinguished engineer at Dell Anoop Ghanwani is a distinguished engineer at Dell working on architecture, technology strategy, and standards for data center switches. Prior to Dell, he worked at several networking companies in architecture and software development roles covering general system design, QoS, flow control, and bridging and routing protocols. He has been an active participant at IEEE 802 and IETF standards organizations. He received a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Duke University.
