EMPLOYMENT
I have been working on various translation projects by and large in the scientific and
biomedical fields. I translate mainly into English but on occasion also into Hungarian.
1987-2003. Independent contractor for the Population on Line database.
Signed contract with the John Hopkins University after returning to Hungary in 1991. I
translated and abstracted several thousand scientific documents (that were shipped to my
address in Hungary and were mainly in English but also in Hungarian, German, Dutch,
Scandinavian and Romance languages). In 2003 the whole project was reorganized due to
budgetary cutbacks. In the 1980’s I also worked on a contractual basis for Psychological
Abstracts, the U.S. Institute for Drug Abuse and Alcoholism, Herner and Co. (education,
learning) and Schreiber Translations (biomedical, patents).
