ORGANISATIONAL ENVIRONMENT
QTAC has a proud history of providing a centralised tertiary admission service in Queensland since 1975.
QTAC takes applications and makes offer of places in courses at Queensland universities, in medicine courses
at Bond University, in some courses at TAFE Queensland, Southern Cross University, University of New
England and Australian Maritime College and also at some private tertiary education providers. Institutions
determine their own entry requirements and QTAC ensures these entry requirements are applied consistently.
QTAC also provides an information service through its flagship publication the QTAC Guide, in social media, on
its website, in person and over the phone.
QTAC is a company limited by guarantee that is registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profit
Commission.
QTAC’s vision is to be recognised as the leading tertiary admissions centre.
The Information Technology Services (ITS) is one of six sections that work together to achieve one of the
organisations primary purposes: the allocation of tertiary places to qualified applicants. ITS determines QTAC’s
information technology requirements and ensures that all systems that are implemented are functional,
accessible and fit for purpose. The section is responsible for the physical computer systems, networking and
system security and for the provision and maintenance of databases and software to support QTAC’s operations.
ITS supports both internal and external IT users and customises and maintains software for external clients.
ORGANISATIONAL VALUES
Transparent – we will ensure our processes and communications are clear, consistent and accountable.
Innovative – we will be driven by an entrepreneurial spirit in all our operations.
Equitable – we will make offers to the best qualified candidates, treat institutions fairly and assist institutions to
