Activities are provided for the Key Learning Areas of English, Mathematics, Health and Physical Education, LOTE, The Arts, SOSE, Science and Technology. Warm-Up Games, Skill Games, Skill Drills and Team Drills are also provided for out door activities and coaches of school teams. Cost: Free Format: CDROM Web site: http://afl.com.au/schools The It’s More Than a Game Curriculum Resource (formerly AFL Heritage) contains 27 teaching units of work linked to activities covering each of the eight Key Learning Areas. Each activity includes sub-activities, teacher notes and student worksheets. To complement the activities the resource also contains video clips, history, AFL Club information, uniforms, grounds, player images, club songs, mascots and the rules. This resource will be available in early 2008. Web based program with content for students, teachers and parents/carers. Curriculum lesson plans for teachers, interactive games, tools and calculators are also featured on the website. This document is confidential and intended solely for the use and information of the addressee 2 Innovative AFL themed curriculum resources across all key learning areas The AFL You Can Kick Goals initiative promotes and teaches about important community and cultural values in Australian society. This resource consists of 3 distinct teaching and learning manuals and student handbooks written specifically to meet the needs of Australian teachers and students in middle, upper primary and lower secondary. The resource focuses on five broad value themes: fair play, respect yourself & others, teamwork, harmony and leadership. This resource will be available in mid 2008. Students develop a better understanding and appreciation of the roles that are performed in community football environments. Through a season of sport students can develop into better players and also learn other roles such as umpiring, team management, coaching, leading a team captain, sports journalist or publicity officer etc. Cost: Free Format: CDROM Web site: http://afl.com.au/schools The Senior Secondary curriculum resource comprises units of work using Australian Football as the vehicle to engage students and support the achievement of senior secondary outcomes in Australian schools. Units of work themed on Australian Football for the Key Learning Areas of Physical Education, English, Maths, Media and Business studies.
