The National Center for Drug Free Sport, Inc.® Job Description POSITION: Information Technology Support Analyst. REPORTS TO: Joshua Mittlestadt, Manager of Information Technology. COMPANY DESCRIPTION: The National Center for Drug Free Sport, Inc.® (Drug Free Sport™), located in downtown Kansas City, Missouri, is the premier provider of drug-testing services in sport, both nationally and internationally. Drug Free Sport is a client-centered company of highly trained and educated professionals dedicated to ensuring fair, ethical and safe competition in sport. We are the leader in information technology as it relates to sport drug-testing administration services. Drug Free Sport envisioned and developed a proprietary mobile drug-testing data collection and management system called Secure Collection Automated Network (SCAN®), which is currently deployed on an iOS infrastructure. BASIC FUNCTION: Drug Free Sport views this position as a long-term investment in technology for the organization. The Drug Free Sport Information Technology Support Analyst will operate in a fast-paced work environment that allows for creative problem solving skills and interaction with all levels of the organization. The Drug Free Sport Information Technology Support Analyst will be responsible for the day-today technical support of laptops, iPads, hardware and software for all on-site and remote Drug Free Sport staff and independent contractors (including SCAN® support); test and manage deployment of client software; take an active role in the testing, evaluation, and implementation process of new cutting edge software for the business; and develop/deliver IT training materials to the Drug Free Sport staff to increase overall productivity when possible. Drug Free Sport also hosts and manages multiple external facing web applications developed in Ruby on Rails, ASP.NET, and PHP. This position will work directly with the Drug Free Sport Manager of Information Technology and our other IT Support Analyst to provide a high level of IT support and direction for the organization. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Including, but not limited to: 1. Providing hardware and software support for all Drug Free Sport laptops. The National Center for Drug Free Sport, Inc.® 2/22/16 1 2. Managing Microsoft Server with Active Directory and Exchange. 3. Managing Ubuntu Linux with Apache, nginx, CouchDB, and MySQL. 4. Backing up systems and data, and planning and testing disaster recovery methods. 5. Evaluating, testing, and deploying important software updates to systems. 6. Handling malware, viruses, and other computer security threats. 7. Managing an Ethernet network, and SonicWALL firewall/routers/VPN appliance. 8. Pulling cable, terminating patch panels, and troubleshooting network connectivity issues. 9. Creating and delivering IT support training materials for both internal and external users. 10. Providing production support for proprietary SCAN® software and equipment for Drug Free Sport staff members and off-site independent contractors as needed. 11. Occasionally providing on-call support. 12. Assisting in testing and validating new software products prior to deployment. QUALIFICATIONS AND MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: REQUIRED Minimum two to five years current experience in the technology field. Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent work experience. Experience with managing and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems and applications (e.g. Windows 7, Microsoft Office 2010, etc.). Experience with configuring and supporting smartphones and other mobile devices (e.g. Windows Phone, Android, and iOS). Experience with Microsoft Server operating systems (e.g. 2008 R2, 2012). Extensive experience with Linux (e.g. Ubuntu 12.04 LTS). Windows and UNIX scripting experience (e.g. batch scripts and bash scripts). Interest in staying current with technology trends, including new operating systems, mobile devices, programming languages, and web technologies. Excellent communication (written/oral/listening) skills as well as the ability to present IT related issues in both technical and non-technical terms. Excellent analytical, diagnostic and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining deadlines. Ability to operate in a self-directed manner. Pass a background check, pre-employment drug test and provide transcript verification. Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, and Exchange 2010. Experience with virtualization (e.g,. Hyper-V, VMWare ESXi). Experience with SQL database management (e.g., MSSQL, MySQL).
