Research activities and qualifications: Fungal interactions in relation to plant pathology and
biological disease control. Research directed to understand mechanisms that parasitic fungi
use to interact with plant hosts, other fungi and bacteria. Genetic transformation of fungi, gene
discovery and gene expression. Next generation genome and transcriptome sequencing and
analysis. Molecular biology, evolutionary genetics, plant pathology and biological control.
