Avalanche Press’ Second War at Sea: “Coral Sea” (repeats Sun 9-12) (GM - Ron Francis) This introductory
game for the Second War at Sea Series will focus on the Coral Sea battles in May of 1942, including the world's first
carrier vs. carrier battle.
Avalon Hill Classics Tournament (continues thru Sunday 9-12) (GM - Andy Bouffard) Take part in this
tournament by playing 3 or more of the following Avalon Hill classic games on Fri/Sat - then in the finals on
Sunday: Afrika Korps, Anzio, Bismarck, Bulge '81, D-Day '77, Midway, Panzer Blitz, Panzer Leader, Russian
Campaign 3rd ed., Stalingrad, Victory in the Pacific and War at Sea. Evening rounds at the hotel are allowed.
Axis & Allies Boardgame “1942-45” (repeats every session) (GM - Keith Caillouette) January, 1942. The
Axis & Allies game represents the entire world at war starting at the height of Axis power. Five major countries will
be played, the United States, United Kingdom and the Soviet Union for the Allies and Germany and Japan for the
Axis. Beginners and veteran gamers are welcome.
Axis and Allies Miniatures “Tutorial” (repeats every session) (GM’s - Ross Prohaska and Tammy Grimes)
There are 2 aspects to this event, a challenge match for veteran A/A players (land and naval battles, and a public
tutoring session.
Command Decision – Test of Battle: “The Battle for Lindern” (continues Fri 1-4) (GM - Dudley Garidel,
sponsored by HMGS) In November of 1944 the U.S. 84th Infantry Division was committed to breach the Siegfried
Line. For ten days, it fought through constant rain and deep mud. Stiff German resistance came from the 9th
Panzer Division, the 15th Panzergrenadier Division, and, finally, the 10th SS Panzer Division [post- Market Garden]
trying to stop the 84th before they could break through the Siegfried Line defenses at Lindern.
Down in Flames “Tutorial” (repeats Sun 1-4) (GM - Mark McCandless) Card game of air to air fighter combat
in the European or Pacific Theatres. Novices welcome and encouraged.
GMT Games’ The Battle for Normandy: “Bloody Omaha” (repeats Fri 1-4; Sat 9-12; Sun 9-12 & 1-4 ) (GM
– Rusty Coleman) This scenario of GMT’s well-reviewed “monster” simulation of the Normandy campaign at
Battalion level. It covers the invasion at Omaha Beach by the 1st and 29th Infantry Divisions on June 6th, and the
efforts to expand the beachhead.

Mein Panzer “Retake Son” (repeats Sat 9-12; Sun 9-12) (GM – Duane Rock) On Sept 19-20, 1944 Panzer
Brigade 107 assaulted the Command Post of the 101st Airborne Division Command Post at Son, Netherlands during
Operation Market Garden.
Memoir ’44 in MIniature “Meeting Engagement” (repeats Fri 1-4) (GM - Clay Cooper) US and German
forces tangle in a meeting engagement in late 1944 using 15mm scale miniatures.
The War Game: World War II “Second Ed. Tournament Configuration” (continues Fri 1-4; repeats Sat 94) (GM - Jeff Stein) All theaters of WWII on the World's Largest Board Game (39" x 78"), hosted by game creator
Jeff Stein. Includes nuances like Rommel's Rules for mechanized warfare, Air Supremacy Rules and chess-like naval
engagement rules.

GUEST SPEAKER – Mark Mod: Bittersweet Victory – H.M.A.S. Sydney and G.S.K. Kormoran. In WWII
Germany utilized disguised merchant ships, called auxiliary cruisers, to prey on Allied shipping. "Bittersweet
Victory" details the confrontation between the German Raider HSK Kormoran and the Australian cruiser HMAS
Sydney.

Micronauts WWII “Battle of Cape Spada” (GM – David Arceneaux) On July 19, 1940 near the
Mediterranean island of Crete, an Allied destroyer squadron, led by the cruiser HMAS Sydney encountered two
Italian cruisers.

Infantry Division attacked three successive ridgelines in their approach to the town of Agira. 2nd Canadian Brigade
committed the Loyal Edmonton Battalion & Seaforth Highlanders of Canada Battalion to the final attack on July 28,
1943.

German 352nd Division stronghold, WN 60 on Easy Green Landing Zone of Omaha Beach.
GMT Games’ The Battle for Normandy: “Operation Cobra” (repeats Sat 1-8) (GM – Walter McGovern)
While the Germans are occupied with holding Caen against repeated British assaults, General Bradley decides to
advance into Brittany. Out flanking the German defenses will break the hold on Caen.
Knight’s Cross “The Battle of Britain” (GM – Darron Messina) The British must stop the Germans from
bombing London. This will be a dogfight between Spitfires, Hurricanes for Britain and Me 109s and 110s for the
Germans.
Knight’s Cross “The Bombers are Back!” (GM – Troy Fuller) Each player takes a fighter or even a box (3-4
planes) of bombers (B-17's or B-24's).

combined Anglo-Canadian force landed at the German held French port of Dieppe. This was considered a dry run
and learning experience for Normandy.

GUEST SPEAKER Capt. Rick Jacobs, U.S.N.R. (ret.) “Dunkerque” At the start of World War II the French Army
was considered to be the finest in the world. Nazi Germany defeated it in a few short weeks using new weapons
and a new concept in mobile warfare, Blitzkrieg (‘Lightning War’). Captain Rick Jacobs will discuss the origins and
practices that produced victory in the Battle of France, May 1940.
