 A solid figure is a 3 dimensional shape.

 A polygon is a closed figure with sides that are all line segments.
 Each polygon below is identified by the number of sides.

 There are 4 different quadrilaterals.
 Only a square, rhombus and rectangle are parallelograms.

 The place where the line segments meet is called an angle or vertex.
 The angles in a polygon are called vertices.
