About the test tomorrow…
Remember that the test tomorrow is more based on analysis and developing ideas, not on
straight recall. You must make sure that you fully explain and support your ideas on this test, especially
in the paragraph responses. The test will consist of two parts:
Quote Analysis
•
There will be a number of quotes from the play, followed by several questions
•
The questions may ask:
o
Who said it?
o
Why is the quote significant?
o
How does it relate develop a character or theme?
o
What does it reveal about a character’s state of mind?
o
How does it relate to other quotes from the play?
•
To study for this part you may want to review the key quotes you recorded in your notes
Paragraph Responses
•
You will write a number of paragraphs developing ideas related to the play
•
I may ask you to write about:
o
Themes
o
Who’s more to blame for Duncan’s death
o
The role of characters in the play
o
One or more of the performances we watched in class
o
The use of imagery or symbolism
