BSED major in Mathematics The Table of Specification (ToS) A table of specifications (TOS) is a test map that guides/helps teachers create tests. It ensures that there is a test balance (or a balance between essays and difficult tasks) between tasks that test low-level thinking skills and tasks that test high-level thinking skills in the test. Three steps are involved in creating a Table of Specifications: 1. choosing the measurement goals and domain to be covered, 2. breaking the domain into key or fairly independent partsconcepts, terms, procedures, applications, and 3. Constructing the table. Table of specification consists of seven columns: 1. Learning Competency 2. Content/Topic 3. Time spent 4. Percent of class time 5. Number of items 6. Level of assessment and Item placement 7. Types of Tests According to my research, the content of table of specification is still the same but the format may vary. Like, what I have notice on the different samples of came from different schools. The content should always be there because it improves the validity of teacher-made tests and it can improve student learning as well. A Table of Specifications helps to ensure that there is a match between what is taught and what is tested.
