This means you can do multiple calculations in minutes whereas calculations may take more time on paper. What Is Simple Interest? • Simple interest is a quick and easy method of calculating the interest charge on a loan. Simple interest is determined by multiplying the daily interest rate by the principal by the number of days that elapse between payments. • Simple Interest=P×I×N where: P=principle • I=daily interest rate • N=number of days between payments What Is Compound Interest? • Compound interest (or compounding interest) is interest calculated on the initial principal, which also includes all of the accumulated interest of previous periods of a deposit or loan. • Compound Interest = Total amount of Principal and Interest in future • (or Future Value) less Principal amount at present (or Present Value) • = [P (1 + i)n] – P • = P [(1 + i)n – 1] • (Where P = Principal, i = nominal annual interest rate in percentage terms, and n = number of compounding periods.) 2.PROBLEM STATEMENT • Creating a Simple Interest and Compound Interest Calculator using bash script in Linux. • Objective of Project – • The main objective of this project is to create a user friendly and efficient system for calculation of the EMI, which saves the user’s valuable time and efforts. • About shell script: • A shell script is a computer program designed to be run by the Unix shell, a command-line interpreter. • Bash is a command processor that typically runs in a text window where the user types commands that cause actions.
