Unit Essential Questions Why is it important to understand the properties of two-dimensional figures, such as triangles and quadrilaterals? Unit Enduring Understandings An angle is formed by two rays with a common endpoint classed the vertex. Angles are measured in degrees and classified according to their measure. Unit Learning Targets Students will ... Classify and identify angles and find missing measures. Demonstrate that the sum of the angles in a triangle is 180 degrees. Identify and classify triangles and find missing angle measures. Classify quadrilaterals and find missing angle measures. Find the sum of the angle measures of a polygon and the measure of an interior angle of a regular polygon. Evidence of Learning Summative Assessment Classify and determine the measure of angles. Demonstrate that the sum of the angles in a triangle is 180 degrees. Find unknown measures and the sum of angles in polygons. Accelerated: Have students make up puzzles about complementary and supplementary angles and write them on one side of an index card. On the other side, they should write the answer. Trade with other students and solve. Teacher Notes:
