JUSTIFICTION TOOKLIT- RETURN ON INVESTMENT WORKSHEET
For the 2015 BIO World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology
When you propose a conference for approvals, focus on what you will specifically
bring back to the organization as payback for the investment. BIO has provided
template letter to help convey the return on investment to your manager. Use the
planning tools below to plan your approach and populate the template.
Although you might understand the benefits of the conference that interests you,
your manager may not. Therefore, to be most effective in justifying the conference,
you need to clearly articulate the connection between your organization's
knowledge requirements and the conference program. DO NOT assume that your
manager will be able to automatically make those distinctions.
Conference Summary
The BIO World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology is the largest international
industrial biotech event. Taking place July 19-22, 2015 in Montreal, the event will
bring together 1,300+ leaders in advanced biofuels, biobased products and
renewable chemicals.

MEET THE NEED
Networking at BIO World Congress will be powered by One-on-One
Partnering™. This system enables you to quickly identify potential
business partners, initiate contact and request 30-minute meetings
held on-site in rooms provided by BIO. Over 1,000 meetings
facilitated by One-on-One Partnering™ were held in 2014. In
additional to this sophisticated networking tool, BIO provides over
nine dedicated networking opportunities during the conference.
Five high-level plenary discussions will give you access to gain
valuable information and insights from experts on what is coming
down the road. 48 breakout sessions with over 200 speakers will
enable you to compare competing technologies and discover what
your peer organizations and potential partners are talking about.
See what your competitors and potential partners are planning for,
how they are accomplishing goals or tackling challenges that are
similar to your own your organizations. Plus you will have access to
over 6 special topic workshops, over 70 research posters and over
9 BIO GreenTech Investor Sessions showcasing emerging
technology. Give examples of specific sessions you would like to
attend and how the information in those sessions or speaker can
benefit your organization.
