Job Description Job Title: Healthy Start Project Manager Base: 8 Elm Place, Old Witney Rd, Oxfordshire, OX29 4BD Reports to: Head of Family Support Salary: £31,723 - £35,684 pro rata Band: Band E Working Hours: 22.5 hours per week Contract Term: September 2014 – June 2017 Job Purpose: The post holder with work closely with the Head of Family Support, and colleagues at partner organisation Family Lives, to ensure the successful delivery of the Working Together for a Healthy Start project in the London boroughs of Ealing, Hackney and Haringey. The project aims to reduce inequalities in health in disadvantaged areas through active volunteering initiatives. Volunteers will be recruited and trained as ‘Healthy Start Mentors’ to provide 1:1 support to families to help them to provide the best start for babies and young children and reduce child obesity. Ensuring successful delivery of Working Together for a Healthy Start project activities Delivery of Healthy Start Mentor training to volunteers Stakeholder management across London Boroughs of Ealing, Hackney and Haringey Monitoring Working Together for a Healthy Start project outcomes and providing reports 1. Ensuring successful delivery of Working Together for a Healthy Start project activities Work closely with Head of Family Support to develop detailed project delivery plan Ensure the project is delivered in accordance with planned milestones and targets Work in partnership with Family Lives Family Support Workers to deliver volunteer engagement events Conduct consultation with families and potential project participants Support Family Support workers to provide effective supervision for Healthy Start Mentors and provide specialist input in relation to the programme where required. Deliver the evidence-based HENRY 8 week 1-to-1 programme to families. 2. Delivery of Healthy Start Mentor training to volunteers Plan, prepare and liaise with co-trainer to deliver Healthy Start Mentor Training Deliver courses in accordance with the training handbook, modelling the HENRY approach and skills Debrief and share feedback with co-trainer at the end of each training as part of a continuous system of trainer development and quality improvement Complete course paperwork in a timely and organised manner 3. Stakeholder management for Working Together for a Healthy Start project Build and maintain relationships with Family Lives staff to provide support, problem solve and share learning Ensure regular communication with local partners in London boroughs of Ealing, Hackney and Haringey to share success and overcome any potential challenges Build and maintain relationships with funding partner to ensure effective delivery/monitoring Develop working relationships with community groups and leaders to ensure project reaches families not currently accessing healthy lifestyle services. Organise and chair Steering Group meetings for key stakeholders. 4. Monitoring Working Together for a Healthy Start project outcomes and providing reports Establish and maintain systems to monitor delivery against outcomes Monitor and support the collection and collation of data by Healthy Start Mentors and Family Support Workers Ensure the timely provision of monitoring and evaluation data to the project evaluator Ensure accurate and timely reports are provided as required by the project funding partner.
