Aims and Objectives of the Course
In primary care internship, each intern joins the shifts in two primary health centers,
medicine center, immunology clinic, tuberculosis prevention center, Firat University medicosocial center and city health directory under a programme prepared beforehand. Theoretical
and practical courses are given to the students by the academic staff assigned to these health
centers. The interns alternatively practice in every department of the centers. Seminars are
presented by the students in the subjects determined in the beginning of the internship for
three hours once a week. The students gain and improve their skills and knowledge in
vaccination in immunization department, observation and practicing the services in
tuberculosis prevention center, primary health care practice in medico-social center, learning
the National Health Care System and Organization. They take place in school surveys, public
educations, in-service educations and in the various stages of the epidemiological jobs.
Aims;
 To recognize the health care system and organization.
 To gain knowledge and ability on the management of primary health care centers.
 To gain knowledge about health employee rights.
 To gain knowledge and ability on preventive and curative health services.
 To gain ability on scientific research planning, applying and writing a research report
and presentation.
 To define the position and importance of a general practitioner in the public health.
