Senior Vice President – Finance and Chief Financial Officer
Since 2012, Jeffrey Marsh has served as senior vice president – finance and chief
financial officer for the Association of American Railroads (AAR), the world’s leading
railroad policy, research and standard setting organization for the Class I freight
railroads of the United States, Canada and Mexico, as well as Amtrak.
Mr. Marsh has more than 20+ years of experience in financial and accounting
management, including demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, corporate financial
reporting, treasury activities and risk and insurance management.
Prior to joining AAR in 1999, Marsh directed financial and treasury activities at the
National Capital Reciprocal Insurance Company. In this role, Marsh also handled issues
related to corporate governance, finance and accounting, policyholder services and loss
reserve analysis and related matters of the professional liability insurance company.
Marsh currently serves as treasurer of the Railroad Insurance Management Association,
an organization comprised of the railroad industry’s risk managers and insurance
managers. He also serves as the primary liaison to the Railroad Accounting Officers and
Internal Audit Divisions of AAR. In this role, Marsh is directly responsible for
developing and organizing the annual AAR RAO/IAD Training Conference in
conjunction with the chief accounting officers of the AAR member railroads which
provides critical ongoing subject matter experts in accounting, financial, economic and
tax policy disciplines in conjunction with the chief accounting officers of AAR member
railroads.
Education

Mr. Marsh received a Bachelor of Science from Lynchburg College in
Lynchburg,Va, and successfully passed the Certified Public Accountant
examination.
