Executive Assistant to the Executive Director Job Description: The Executive Assistant is responsible for ensuring a high quality, efficient and positive work environment in a small and growing 501(c)(3) organization supporting research & education for veterans on the Bedford VA campus. Reporting directly to the Executive Director (ED), this job requires both the ability to follow directions, and sound independent judgment. The successful candidate will be have outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills, possess a meticulous attention to detail, have the ability to successfully prioritize and manage multiple and changing responsibilities, be flexible and enjoy a good laugh. Currently, this position is part-­‐time weekdays, 20 hours per week. Convenient location with ample parking. Competitive salary. Roles and Responsibilities: • Provides executive level administrative assistance and time management support for Executive Director, the Board, and others. • Builds effective professional relationship with stakeholders including staff, board members, researchers, external partners and donors. • Supports donor relations, fundraising, events, and database and coordinates outreach and acknowledgement. • Works with Grants Accounting Specialist to manage government and foundation grant deliverables. • Handles matters confidentially and with discretion. • Prioritizes conflicting needs, handles matters expeditiously, proactively, and follows through on projects to successful completion, often with deadline pressures. • Ensures the office provides a welcoming atmosphere for visitors and staff. • Maintains discretion and confidentiality. Qualifications: • Prior professional office experience. • Post High School education. • Strong written and oral communication skills • Proficiency with Microsoft programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and SharePoint • Previous experience working in a research environment a plus.
