Strategic technology roadmapping on
personalized medicine in Taiwan
Background
Research Methods
The Science and Technology Policy Research and
Information Center (STPI) at National Applied Research
Laboratories of Taiwan is sponsored by the government to
undertake foresight, horizon scanning and other policy
analysis tasks. A new round of future-oriented technology
analysis (FTA) has been conducted since 2009 to respond
to emerging challenges.
Working Group Assembled
Literature Review
Idea Generation-Scenarios
This poster presents a small scale, in-house exercise to
construct a strategic technology roadmap in personalized
medicine by integrating various FTA methods: scenarios,
technology roadmap, essay etc. based on normative
approach over a 25-year time horizon.
Exploring Needs
Functionality-Needs Matrix
Key objectives
Expert Panel Meeting
• focus on exploring needs: no pre-defined technologies to
gear, focusing on needs in technology, functionality and
policy
• narrowed scope: to improve accurancy and directive
• to develop a theme-oriented, in-depth scenario analysis
throughly before mapping future needs
