Enterprise Associate The Art Gallery of Alberta (AGA) is seeking a detail oriented, efficient, and sales focused individual with experience providing excellent customer service in a retail environment. Reporting to the Head of Enterprise & Engagement, this role focuses on driving sales in Shop AGA and all related financial, point of sale, and database administration for both Shop AGA and Art Rental and Sales at the AGA. Duties and Responsibilities In this capacity, the Enterprise Associate will perform the following: Shop AGA Support the planning and development of enterprise initiatives to meet strategic and annual goals; Maintain good understanding of best practice in customer service and awareness of new developments in retail (relevant to our sector) Ensure merchandise is clean, properly priced, and ready to be displayed Continually monitor visual merchandise displays, replacing and improving as required Maintain inventory and ensure items are in stock Data entry for the point of sale Help retail sales staff achieve sales targets Handle customer questions, complaints, and issues Ensure that retail and stock spaces are maintained in a professional manner Resolved any reconciliation discrepancies Prepare monthly financial/reconciliation reports as needed Conduct an annual inventory count. Assists in the training and retention of store staff in sales to deliver exemplary customer service and meet sales goals Art Rentals and Sales Other Oversee the integrity of all data related to AR&S in both the point of sale and the associated database Prepare weekly client invoices Process all invoice payments Prepare weekly and monthly financial/reconciliation reports as needed Conduct an annual inventory count When necessary, assume other roles on the Team on a temporary basis to ensure coverage during installs, illness and/or vacation Ensure that all opportunities for personal and professional growth are explored Share all knowledge acquired in professional growth opportunities with all other members of the Enterprise and Engagement team and other staff as appropriate Be present, as required, at Openings, Events, etc. to help support the objectives of the Enterprise and Engagement team. Other tasks as required by the business unit Qualifications The successful candidate will possess: Two years retail supervisor experience Minimum of four years of cash handling Ability to install hardware (printers, credit/debit machines, scanner) Excellent customer service skills Able to lift 20kg An ability to exercise independent judgment, show leadership, initiative in the work place and effectively prioritize workflow Experience working with point of sale and inventory control software and systems credit/debit hardware and Microsoft Office suite of programs Post-secondary degree/diploma , preferably in Business Administration or Arts and Cultural Management; equivalencies will be considered; and Available to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays Equivalencies will be considered. This is a part-time position; regular hours of work include Saturday and Sunday and other hours as scheduled including evenings (Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday), with an average of 20 hours a week to Shop AGA and 10 hours a week to art rental and sales administration.
