Why does Prevea have an Employee Assistance Program? Each of us faces a variety of challenges and problems in our daily lives. Many difficulties can be resolved without outside assistance. Occasionally there are challenges that will persist over a period of time and become too much to handle on our own. They can affect our family relationships, personal happiness and satisfaction, performance at work and overall health. The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is there to help you through these times. You and your family can participate in the program with assurance of total privacy. What does this mean to me? The Prevea Employee Assistance Program is designed to assist people with work and personal/family issues. Services provided by the Prevea EAP include: • Direct assessment, treatment and counseling services for those with emotional, behavioral, family or stress- related problems. Referrals to other agencies as needed. • Educational presentations on a variety of mental health and wellness topics. • Consultation upon request to Prevea and staff to facilitate problem solving in job-related situations. Psychological testing, psychiatric evaluation and medication management are not provided by the Prevea EAP. Insurance can be utilized for these services. What type of assistance is available? An EAP can be effective in treating the following: • Physical and emotional illness • Marital, relationship and family concerns • Child and parenting issues • Grief and bereavement • Career concerns and job issues • Stress management • Drug and alcohol abuse • Gambling issues Early identification and treatment is essential for staying healthy. Serious problems will not go away by themselves. Without help, these problems usually get worse. Managers and supervisors are encouraged to utilize the EAP for assistance with situations that may be best addressed by EAP professionals. The EAP team Our EAP staff from Prevea Behavioral Care includes Medical Family Therapists, Clinical Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists, Professional Counselors and Clinical Psychologists. Will I be able to get an appointment? Prevea Behavioral Care has established appointment times on a weekly basis for EAP consultations.
