SIMI VALLEY, CA – The Free Clinic of Simi Valley and the Ventura County Dental
Hygienists’ Association will hold their annual “Make A Difference Day” Dental Clinic for
Children, this Saturday, March 8, 2014 at the Free Clinic of Simi Valley’s Dental facility
in Simi Valley.
Over 45 dentists, dental hygienists and dental assistants, will volunteer their time to
provide dental services to 80-95 children already registered for the event. The dental
practitioners will provide exams, cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants, and patient
education. There will be a dentist on-site to administer to emergency procedures.
Olga Lafflitto, a staff member of the Free Clinic of Simi Valley, and one of the organizers
of the event, is very excited about the event. She bubbles with enthusiasm as she
describes the event, the cute kids, and the dental supplies that she and the other
members of the Hygienists’ Association have purchased, which will be used for the
event, and for the Free Clinic’s regular dental operations. “We originally had a cut-off of
80 children, but our registration has swelled to 95 for Saturday,” said Lafflitto. Children
will receive a “goody bag” with toothpaste, a kid’s toothbrush and educational material.
The services at the event are free of charge, but a donation of $25, which benefits the
Free Clinic are appreciated.
“We appreciate our association with the Ventura County Dental Hygienists’ Association
and applaud their generosity is providing these vital services to Simi Valley’s youngest,”
said Fred Bauermeister, Executive Director of the Free Clinic of Simi Valley.
