VACANCY Face to Face Marketing Officer MSF India Branch office _________________________________________________________________________________________ Background Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international humanitarian medical aid organization working in more than 65 countries worldwide. Médecins Sans Frontières is neutral, impartial, independent and not linked to any political party or governmental body. It provides emergency medical assistance to people in need, irrespective of their nationality, race or religion. In 1996, MSF received the Indira Gandhi Prize for Peace, Disarmament and Development and in 1999 MSF was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. MSF has worked in India since 1999 and provides medical treatment to hundreds of thousands of Indian patients. MSF provides free-of-charge essential healthcare. MSF runs hospitals and clinics, perform surgery, fight epidemics, operate feeding centres for malnourished children and offer mental healthcare. MSF currently runs projects in the states of Bihar, Manipur, Maharashtra, Jammu & Kashmir, Chhattisgarh and Telangana. MSF India is one of 24 offices and operational centres in Europe, America, Asia and Australasia, pooling funding, expertise and staff for MSF field operations. MSF India has three key objectives in support of field operations: the recruitment of skilled medical and non-medical staff, the raising of vital funds, and public information work. Part of the Fundraising Team of the MSF India Branch Office Purpose of Post Develop and manage in-house face to face fundraising activity for MSF India to increase income and maintain a solid base of donors for sustainable growth of MSF India MISSION AND PRINCIPAL ACTIVIES 1. Support Strategic Development Develop a complete understanding of MSF India’s overall fundraising strategies. Advice upon and support the development of the in-house face to face fundraising strategy for MSF India, working closely with the Head of Fundraising, MSF India’s Fundraising Team and other staff. 2. Implementation Implement the MSF India’s in-house face to face fundraising strategy with the aim of increasing income from face to face fundraising channel. Overseeing the work of in-house teams, including the producing materials such as leaflets, face to face scripts and training packs, ensuring consistent messaging and representation of MSF India in close collaboration with the communication team of MSF India. Participate in face to face fundraising activities with the team (app. 75% of the position), this requires travel capacity in order to follow-up the activities. Investigate and develop best face to face fundraising practices to enable MSF in India to lead and innovate within the Indian fundraising market and to maximize long-term responsible income Malls and companies: organizing permissions for malls and companies of interest for face to face activity, establishment of contacts and ‘cultivation’ of contacts Undertaking any other reasonable task that the Head of Fundraising sees fit for the smooth running of the team. 3. Monitoring & Reporting: Ensure timely, accurate and quality MIS reporting for in-house face to face fundraising(on monthly, quarterly and annual basis) Monitoring quality of representation by face to face teams by listening to pitch and field visits Ensure that all fundraising activities comply with applicable (Indian) law at all times, including compliance with data protection legislation 4. Human Resource (with support from Fundraising HRO) Advertising and hiring of new personnel. Make and manage contracts, working plan, and absence reporting. Motivation, training and follow up of face to face executives. Corrections and warnings if necessary 5. Representation Represent MSF in face to face meetings with donors Represent in-house face to face team in internal meetings Key Dimensions: Maintain a team of face to face executives, including team leaders and trainers Manage face to face fundraising activities in Delhi-NCR Interactions Donors Internal and external fundraising team Fundraising agencies Communication team at MSF India Finance/compliance team at MSF India ____________________________________________________________________________________ REQUIREMENTS Qualifications Minimum Bachelor’s degree from a reputed Institute, college or university Work experience Minimum 3-4 years working experience in face to face fundraising or similar profile in marketing Experience in team development and team management Essential Experience with face to face fundraising coordination is an advantage Work experience in sales/marketing is an advantage Basic MS office experience is required Good knowledge of Delhi geography is an advantage English and Hindi language are required Desirable Similar work experience with MSF or any other INGO Competencies Result and quality orientation Behavioural flexibility Planning and organizing People management and Development skills Teamwork and cooperation NOTE: This job description will be reviewed in the light of changing circumstances and may include other duties and responsibilities, following discussion with job holder and head of fundraising.
