About the ferret
• The ferret is 18-24 inches long including a 5-6
inch tail
• It weights only about one to one and a half
pounds, with males slightly larger than females
• Mainly nocturnal
• Lives in prairie dog burrows and also happens to
prey on prairie dogs.
• They also eat mice, rats, ground squirrels, and
occasionally on birds and insects.
