OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH / INFECTION CONTROL OFFICER
Full time, Non-Union
Qualifications:
Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse.
Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (or equivalent) preferred.
Minimum 2 years nursing experience in a health care facility preferred.
Previous experience in infection control, employee health, and occupational health and risk management
preferred.
Current knowledge in concepts and trends in Occupational Health and Safety legislation preferred.
Demonstrated abilities in problem solving, team building, conflict resolution, decision making, managing
change and group process.
Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
High degree of computer proficiency is required for this position.
Responsibilities:
Provide both nursing and administrative support to the Occupational Health / Infection Control
Department in the organization, leadership, enactment and evaluation of Infection Control, Employee
Health / Occupational Health and Safety Programs;
Act as the focal point of communication for the Occupational Health and Infection Control Department;
Provide guidance and support to management and staff in the application of Return to Work and
Attendance Management Programs;
Support management of all WSIB claims related to workplace safety, insurance claims and short and long
term disability claims;
Act as a resource to Occupational Health and Safety Committee;
Other duties as assigned.

Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
