M.V.Sc. Thesis Title
GENETIC SCREENING OF KARAN FRIES ANIMALS FOR BOVINE LEUKOCYTE
ADHESION DEFICIENCY SYNDROME (BLAD) AND COMPLEX VERTEBRAL
MALFORMATION (CVM)
Contribution of M.V.Sc. Research Work
Under M.V.Sc. Research Work I screened Karan Fries animals for two genetic disorders
BLAD and CVM and found two BLAD affected, 24 BLAD carrier and 84 CVM carrier
animals. These animals were subsequently culled from the herd and frequency of carriers
reduced from 21.82% to 3.64% for BLAD and 76.36% to Nil for CVM. My research
certainly helped in reducing spread of these genetic disorders.
Ph.D Thesis Title
GENETIC IMPACT OF PROGENY TESTING PROGRAMME UNDER NETWORK
PROJECT ON MURRAH BUFFALO IMPROVEMENT
Contribution of Ph.D Research Work
The outcome of this study will help to evaluate and monitor the PT programme more
effectively under Network Project on Murrah buffalo Improvement.
The study will also help in taking decision on existing sire evaluation method of sire
evaluation under Network Project on Murrah buffalo Improvement.
