March 20, 2014 NEW Urinalysis (UA) Collection Kit—for Outreach Clients Coming Soon IUHPL is adding BD Vacutainer ®Plus UA Preservative Tubes to the Urine Complete collection kit for our Outreach Clients. The UA Preservative Tube is designed to give more time to test and process urinalysis samples. With its unique formulation samples can be preserved for up to 72 hours without refrigeration. This allows you to maintain sample integrity and helps minimize pre -analytical errors and unnecessary cultures due to bacterial contamination or over growth. BD Vacutainer ®Plus UA Preservative Tube for Urinalysis Testing ONLY. All other urine tests, including cultures, will be rejected if sent in this container. The new collection kits will be transitioned in and replace the old collection kits (with the yellow top tube). New stock should be available for distribution in April 2014.
